Essa Town officials are warning Angus residents to be careful of imposter building inspectors. Building Inspectors with the Township are carrying identification, and if someone comes to your home claiming to be an inspector and you have not requested an inspection, you should ask them for ID.

Chantale Gagnon has jumped into the Adjala-Tosorontio Municipal Election race. The 48 year-old interior decorator is running for Ward 3. Gagnon is currently the president of the Everett Ratepayers Association. The election is October 27.

OPP have seized drugs and money from a convenience store in Tottenham. Police executed two drug warrants yesterday (Jul 22) at 49er Convenience and at the attached home.

The search continues for the next federal Liberal candidate. Simcoe-Grey Federal Liberal Riding Association President John Gruetzner says there are a few possible candidates, but he is not in the position to name them at this time.

BRADFORD HOME DEPOT FINED

Home Depot in Bradford has been fined $90,000 after a worker was seriously injured. The Ministry of Labour says in April 2013 a pallet holding doors tipped and fell on to an employee who was unloading them from a trailer. The worker was paralyzed and suffered fractures.

Essa Council says it wants the Police Services Board to stay intact, at least until new OPP costing formula details are released. Council's decision comes although its current tri-party contract with New Tecumseth and Adjala-Tosorontio ends at the end of the year.

INNISFIL STAFF WORKING TO DECREASE NUMBER OF OPEN BUILDING PERMITS

Slowly, but surely, the open building permit number in Innisfil is decreasing. According to the Innisfil Journal, there were more than 15,000 outstanding permits at one point between 1989 and 2012. Since the beginning of this year, 2,700 open permits have been cleared.

BOTH DRIVERS IN STABLE CONDITION AFTER COLLISION NEAR COOKSTOWN

The 20 year-old man seriously injured in last week's head-on crash on County Road 27 south of Cookstown is in stable condition. According to South Simcoe Police, he remains in hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
