A Public Meeting is coming up in New Tecumseth to talk about the Town's Water Supply, Distribution, and Storage Master Plan.
The Master Plan will evaluate alternatives and identify the best way to provide a secure water supply to residents.

We are still under a snow squall watch.
Environment Canada says the snow will continue this morning and as a result, visibilities could be significantly reduced at times and snow may rapidly accumulate.
Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.

Senior of the Year Award nominations are now open.
This award is to recognize and honour a citizen over the age of 65 who has enriched the community, whether it be through arts, volunteering, sport, or other initiatives.

SIDEWALK RULES IN NEW TEC

A reminder to residents to keep bikes off sidewalks in New Tecumseth.
Councillor JJ Paul Whiteside recently brought up concerns to council about people skateboarding or using hoverboards on the sidewalks, which are supposed to be for pedestrian traffic.

SENTENCING HEARING WRAPS UP IN ALLISTON MURDER CASE

A sentencing hearing has wrapped up for a woman convicted of murdering an Alliston man.
The woman, who can not be named because she was a 17 at the time of the killing, pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder in the June 2012 stabbing death of 24 year old Steve Garnier.

It looks like Planning and Development fees are on the rise in New Tecumseth, but not in every aspect.
Originally, staff considered phasing in the Engineering Subdivision Application Review fee, but have decided not to at this time.

AMBULANCE INVOLVED IN HEAD-ON COLLISION

A head-on collision closed a portion of Yonge Street in Innisfil overnight.
South Simcoe Police say a car and an ambulance collided around 9:45pm (Feb 9) on Yonge St between Innisfil Beach Road and the 7th Line.
