TOWN SAYS TOTTENHAM WATER IS SAFE; WATERMAIN FLUSHING AND SWABBING TO BEGIN

The Town of New Tecumseth says the murky-water in Tottenham is primarily due to its high iron content and naturally occurring organics. Tottenham's water is solely sourced from ground water wells.

HOSPICE GALA ANOTHER HUGE SUCCESS!

The Matthews House Hospice 2014 Harvest Gala was a huge success. Director of Hospice Services Kelly Borg says before dinner even started, $55,000 was raised. :19 The full tally isn't in yet, but Borg estimates they raised over $130,000 for the Hospice.

THERE'S STILL TIME TO REGISTER FOR RUN FOR THE CURE ALLISTON

The 4th Annual CIBC Run For the Cure Alliston is quickly approaching. This year's run/walk will be on Sunday, October 5. Last year over 100 people participated and raised over $30,000. Organizer Erin Christiano says this event is one of the biggest for breast cancer research.

OPENING STATEMENTS GIVEN AT SPRING MURDER TRIAL

The crown has made opening statements in the trial for 21 year-old Matthew Spring of Innisfil. Spring is charged with second degree murder in the death of Bradley Hubbard, who died at the Putting Edge in Barrie in 2011 after being hit with a golf club in an altercation.

Nottawasaga OPP is searching for man after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Alliston. Constable Tracey Bednarczyk says police were called to the Colbeck Cres. area just before 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (Sept 16).

MAN CHARGED AFTER COMPETING WITH STOLEN TRACTOR

An Angus man who competed in Oro's World Fair tractor pull has been arrested after allegedly using a stolen tractor. South Simcoe Police say the man took the tractor from a home in Innisfil without the owner's permission.
