NEW TEC EXTENDS SPLASH PAD HOURS

Due to the continuing hot dry weather New Tecumseth has offered some relief. Parks, Recreation and Culture has advised, effective tonight, New Tec will be extending the Splash Pad hours to 9pm at Beeton, Tottenham, and Riverdale Park Splash Zones.

A complete water ban in Thornton.
Essa Township's public works department say the ban is in place due to critically low water levels.
The ban is in effect for all Thornton Municipal Water users.

A Nottawasaga OPP officer on patrol was informed by a passing motorist of a grey SUV driving erratically on the 11th Line of New Tecumseth.

BULK WASTE PICK UP IN SIMCOE COUNTY

If you have any large items to get rid of, now is the time. Simcoe County is running its bulky waste program until the end of September, but the sooner you book an appointment, the better. Through this program, you can have up to five large items picked up from your house for a fee of $35.

NEW TEC MAN THE VICTIM OF FATAL CRASH

A New Tecumseth man was the victim of a fatal car crash in Gravenhurst. OPP say the accident happened back on July 20. 59 year old Charles Burglar was driving a vehicle that left southbound Highway 11, hit a rock cut.

NEW TEC IN COURT TODAY

The Town of New Tecumseth is in court today.
It's first appearance in relation to a charge laid by the Ministry of Labour in regards to the death of a town worker in 2014.
The ministry charged the municipality with not having proper paperwork on site the day of the tragedy.
