UPDATE: 6TH LINE REOPEN FOLLOWING EARLY MORNING FIRE

The 6th Line is now open following an early morning fire. New Tecumseth Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire and propane leak on the 6th Line around 3:30am. Crews from all three stations battled the blaze, using both offensive and defesive attacks.

TREE CLEARING TO SLOW TRAFFIC IN INNISFIL

You may get stuck in traffic near County Road 21 and the 20th Sideroad in Innisfil. The County of Simcoe will be clearing trees within the right-of-way at that intersection. This will take place until April 11.

BORDEN SWIM-A-THON ON SATURDAY

Swimmers will be put to the test on Saturday (Mar. 28). The Borden Barracudas Swim Club is holding its 2015 Swim-A-Thon. Each swimmer is challenged to swim 200 lengths of the pool, or swim continuously for two hours - whichever comes first.

ROAD TO THE SCHMALZ CUP: HORNETS TAKE GAME 5

The Hornets are on a roll. Alliston defeated the Walkerton Hawks 6-3 last night. Game 6 goes tonight at the NTRC. Puck drop is 8:00pm. The Hawks currently lead the series 3-2. If the Hornets win tonight, Game 7 is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon in Walkerton.

NEW TEC FIRE RESCUE BATTLING 6TH LINE BLAZE

New Tecumseth Fire Rescue is dealing with an early morning structure fire. Crews from all three stations have been battling a blaze on the 6th Line since before 5:00am. A tanker from Adjala-Tosorontio Fire is also on scene to assist.

Innisfil is have a town wide brainstorming session The town is having a community visioning day tomorrow (Mar 28) at Town Hall. The idea is to get public input the will shape Innisfil's Official Plan Paul Pentikainen, Policy Planner with the town, says the official plan shapes the town.

BRADFORD CAR-BUS COLLISION

A bus-car collision sends one to hospital. South Simcoe Police say the small bus, carrying seasonal farm workers, pulled out from a stop sign into the path of another car. It happened at the 12th Line and Yonge Street in Bradford.

NEW DIGS FOR THE CHAMBER

After much anticipation, the Alliston & District Chamber of Commerce is holding its grand opening on Saturday (Mar. 28). The Chamber is now located at 60 Victoria Street West. President David Potocki (puh-talk-ee) says there's a lot to look forward to in the new space.
