A snow squall warning is still in effect.
Enivironment Canada say the snaowfall in the 15 to 25 centimetre range may drop on us by Friday (Dec 9) evening
They warn of sudden low to nil visibility and hazardous winter driving conditions.

A public input session has been scheduled for Thursday evening (dec 8) at Town Hall.
The 2017 Town, Water and Wastewater Operating and Capital Budgets will be the topics up for discussion.

ESSA BUDGET NUMBER LOWERED

Essa budget talks continue.
Last year saw a double digit increase in the property tax rate in Essa Township.
Capital costs were a large part of the increase which included the purchase of a new pumper truck for the Essa Fire Department.

SNOW SQUALL WATCH IN EFFECT

A snow squall watch is effect.
Environment Canada says we may see 15 cm of snow starting late this (Dec 8) afternoon.
They predict the snow squalls will continue through Friday.
They add that visibility will be reduced at times in heavy snow and road closures are possible.

DRUG BUST IN ANGUS

Drugs and weapons seized in a raid in Angus.
Nottawasaga OPP found marijuana, hash, cocaine and meth when they executed the search warrant Tuesday (dec 6) evening
They also found three switchblades.

New Tec Council were looking for a land swap with an area farmer to connect the trail from northern and southern ends of the Town.
