The Renegade Derby Dames Roller Derby League is taking you back in time for its 50's style drive-in diner fundraiser. Leah Armstrong, known on the track as Laya Down, says funds raised will go towards the Bombshell Battalion and the Striking Viking, which are both teams in the Renegade league.

New Tecumseth's CAO Terri Caron has retired from her role after 12 years. Mayor Mike MacEachern was part of the council that originally hired Terri. :07 MacEachern says the Town is in good hands with the new CAO Brendan Holly.

BELOVED TOTTENHAM CROSSING GUARD RETIRES

A local crossing guard was recognized at Monday night's (Aug. 25) council meeting in New Tecumseth. Joan Mitchell is retiring after being a crossing guard in Tottenham for 20 years at the Queen Street and Dillane (De-lane-y) Street intersection.

MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER BEING PULLED FROM POND

A 78 year-old man is in critical condition after being pulled from a pond near Everett this afternoon (Fri Aug 29). According to CTV News, the man was pulled out of a pond on a property on Concession Road 3 in Adjala-Tosorontio.

TWO SUSPICIOUS FIRES IN BRADFORD FRIDAY MORNING

South Simcoe Police is investigating two possible arsons that happened early this morning (Fri Aug 29) in Bradford. Police say at around 3:00 a.m. a car on Fox Run Lane was set on fire, and about 15 minutes later a child's slide was on fire outside a home on Noble Drive.

The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority Board has approved updated regulation mapping. The updated mapping includes the shoreline of Georgian Bay extending five kilometres into the lake.

The 25th Annual JakeStock is taking place this Sunday (August 31) at the Gilford Hall. There's going to be live music, a BBQ, and fun for the whole family. Chairman Rob Nicol says all of the funds raised will go into the Gilford Hall.

Matt Cochrane led the way in the Hornets' 5-2 victory over Uxbridge scoring a pair of goals. Adam Arsenault, Tanner Dockerty, and Matt Hamilton also scored in Alliston's third consecutive pre-season win. Tyler Brindle made 22 saves for the Hornets.
